We are Andrew and Kasie Dick, owners and operators of Bear Creek Meats. Both brought up in Ag, we’ve always had a connection to the meat that was served on our tables.

Whether it was raising farm animals like cattle, pigs, sheep and chickens, or hunting wild game such as deer, moose, and elk, we have both been heavily involved in these processes from a very young age. Our various career experiences have only deepened our understanding and respect for raising and harvesting techniques. Together we have worked as hunting guides/cooks and on several different ranches (each with their own unique style of raising and working with livestock).

Along with these years of hands-on experience in selecting, finishing, and harvesting quality meat, we’ve most recently been mentored by several professionals on the arts of butchering - aging, cutting, processing, wrapping, and many other aspects of the trade.

Our goal is to bring you the scrumptious, yet uncommon cuts that you’ll be hard-pressed to find at your average butcher shop (not to mention the big box grocery shops).

Oh and did we mention, we’re also busy raising five buckaroos of our own?! Safe to say, there is never a dull moment in our household. As the kids are fully-immersed in our lifestyle, we’re passing down our love of all-things-meat to their curious and inquisitive minds.

Our Meat

Beef

We offer beef in bulk orders (full, half, quarter). Our beef is raised either by us at Bear Creek Meats, or by our trusted partners at Section 19 Farming Co. We cut to your preferences and offer many exceptional cuts that you won’t get from any ol’ butcher. Contact us for more info.

Pork

Our heritage-breed, pasture-raised pork is grown right here on our farm and is also for sale by bulk order. Pork is seasonally available and harvested from September to December. As always, you get to choose your cut preferences. Please contact us to pre-order.

Poultry

Our chickens are also pasture-raised on our own farmland. We sell whole chickens, priced by the pound and at a target/average weight of about 6 pounds. We harvest from late July to September. Get in touch to pre-order.

  • We are passionate about bringing you delicious and lesser-known cuts that are hard to find anywhere else. Just to mention a few - flat iron, oyster, chuck eye, tomahawk, and hanger steaks.

  • We can do beef, pork, lamb, buffalo, and wild game.

  • We make delicious fresh sausage. Smoked meats will be coming soon, and jerky is in the works.

  • Yes, we do. Contact us to discuss.

  • This varies based on our availability, type of meat, and your preferences. For example, pork needs to hang for 3-7 days, plus processing time. Beef needs to hang for 2-3 weeks (depending on preference), plus processing.

  • Everything is customizable and we will discuss your options in depth with you before we do anything. Based on animal type and size, we’ll go over what cuts are available, cutting and packaging preferences (ex: size of roasts, steaks per package) and so on.

  • Our basic options come paper-wrapped. Clear, vacuum-sealed packaging is available for additional cost. Ground meat comes in standard, white, poly bags to preserve freshness. 

  • Our custom butcher services are available for anyone within Canada (how far are you willing to travel?!), but we are located in south-east Saskatchewan, with the closest town being Rocanville.
